Nii Anyaa Yartey’s adaptation of Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi’s coming-of-age tale, The Lion King, is set among the Kikuyu and Maasai groups of Kenya and Tanzania. Young Simba must navigate grief, betrayal, and destiny to reclaim his rightful place as king.
